About
Julia Bellack
Commercial & Editorial Photographer Hannover & Hamburg
— elegant, contemporary, aesthetic
As an editorial and commercial photographer I produce contemporary images for brands, agencies and magazines with a focus on authentic and elegant aesthetics.
My strongest influence: My three-year-long journey hitchhiking from my Northern German hometown to tropical Malaysia, leading me through various European and Asian cultures, landscapes and myriad encounters with inspiring people and places. Japan’s ancient ideals of visual aesthetics, the harsh merciless Mongolian winter and its welcoming people, the rich colors of Southeast Asia – my camera was my best friend and witness.
This intense journey eventually led me back to Germany to study Photojournalism & Documentary Photography in Hannover. The course’s strict focus on telling stories about the world as it is shaped my ability to perceive and visually compress my surroundings – and to find beauty and simplicity in every possible scenario and place.
The freedom to experiment during my studies and while later working for and with photographers and a branding agency back in Asia has led me to my biggest photographic passions: Food and Still Life Photography.
I use photography to enable the viewer to immerse in my imagery with all senses, to spark his or her desire and wonder through visual perfection and elegance. They get to see the perfect version of something they didn’t yet know they wanted – while already enjoying a visual glimpse of it.
Now imagine what we can create together.

I am based in Hannover and mostly work for clients in and between Hanover and Hamburg, but my photographic field of activity also includes Braunschweig, Wolfsburg, all of Lower Saxony, Bremen, Germany, nation- and worldwide.
I used to work in Asia (Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand) for a few years and am still well-connected there for a wide variety of projects — and am always happy to start new projects there.
