TEARSHEETS EDITORIAL PHOTOGRAPHY HANNOVER & HAMBURG, GERMANY | KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA
A peek inside my editorial photography portfolio – for magazines in the editorial and corporate area, for magazines and companies in Hanover, Hamburg and throughout Germany as well as in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. My editorial portfolio primarily includes food and still life photography, documentaries, portraits and personal editorial photography projects, including science and medical photography as well as true crime photography.
MERIAN SCOUT
Travel & Culture Magazine | Jahreszeiten Verlag, Hamburg | Portraits, Architecture, Food Photography
Introducing the cultural and culinary hotspots of Germany’s most exciting cities, MERIAN SCOUT guides its readers through their perfect city weekend trip. For this issue I got to explore and photograph the historic old town as well as the city center of Braunschweig (Brunswick)—and portrayed several fascinating people and locations along the way.
APOLLO OPTIK
Employee Magazine | Apollo Optik, Germany | Corporate Editorial Photography, Cover Shooting, Portraiture
Cover portrait shoot for Apollo Optik’s employee magazine “Augenblick”.
STERN CRIME
True Crime Magazine | Gruner + Jahr, Hamburg, Germany | Editorial Photography
The idea behind this personal project was to a) thoroughly research murders of the last few years in my region and their respective crime scenes, b) to explore my ability to imagine and mentally re-play the situation that took place at the exact location and c) to use my camera to visualize the moment of the attack from the victim’s perspective, using a rather experimental approach.
MIXOLOGY
Magazin für Bar Culture | Meininger Verlag | Editorial Potography, Still-Life Potography
Editorial Still Life Photography series for the special interest magazine “Mixology”, Meininger Verlag, which specializes in wine and beverage publications. The series illustrates bottle aging, i.e. the process of aging of spirits in glass bottles, which contributes to aroma and flavor development and complexity. The time factor is illustrated by multiple exposures over a period of several days.
FOODIE
Food Magazine | Jahreszeiten Verlag, Hamburg, Germany | Food Photography, Portraits, Still Life, Architecture
FOODIE, the young sister of Jahreszeiten Verlag’s renowned Feinschmecker magazine, is a culinary trend guide for the young generation of food connoisseurs. For this issue I joined Michelin star restaurant Jante’s Mona Schrader on a delicious and decadent day-long food sprawl through Hannover to discover local favorites and little-known culinary gems.
