An expert in two worlds: Freelance Photographer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia & Hannover/Hamburg, Germany

As a freelance photographer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Hannover/Hamburg, Germany, I mostly cater to commercial and editorial photography clients in Europe and Asia – focusing on Central Europe and Southeast Asia, particularly Malaysia and its neighboring countries, such as Thailand and Singapore. Kuala Lumpur is my second home. Here I have spent several years of my education and, along the way, fell deeply in love with Malaysia’s diversity of cultures & cuisines and its people’s warmth. Since then I’ve been returning regularly to work on assignments and personal photography projects as well as to find inspiration in this multifaceted region.

Since I have grown professionally with and within this culture, I am very familiar with the Southeast Asian mentality and especially the business peculiarities and unspoken rules, which outsiders are often not aware of, and are an important basis for “saving face”. Business relationships and interactions can unnoticedly be negatively impacted by inappropriate behavior or statements.

Being a gateway to Asia and a dynamic commercial hub between the two continents, located in the heart of Southeast Asia, Kuala Lumpur is one of the most important metropolises for European businesses in ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and Asia in general. With Kuala Lumpur International Airport as one of Southeast Asia’s major aviation hubs, I am always able to travel across the region and Asia-wide for assignments whenever I’m in the region – which is primarily during European winter and spring. Given a little advance planning, I’m generally flexible when it comes to scheduling assignments in both regions throughout the year.

My focus on two striving economic parts of the world is clearly an advantage on my clients’ side: I am able to cover multiple locations of a company in various countries across Europe and Asia and in between, such as different production sites, regional headquarters and staff.

My focus on one of the largest economies in the world as well as Malaysia and its neighbors as emerging Tiger States is another clear competitive advantage for my clients: I can cover multiple locations of a company in various countries on both continents and in between, such as production sites, logistics routes, regional offices and events. Corporate websites, business reports and social media are just a few examples of channels where your brand can make an impression through global visual storytelling.

Aesthetic imagery from all facets and locations of a company create a holistic view of your brand and tell a coherent visual story about its place in our globalized world – especially if it comes from one single source with the same visual language, workflow, professionalism and interpersonal qualities during the production process. Last but not least, one of the most important factors remains the already mentioned business and cultural adaptability as well as the necessary soft skills before and during the production process.

How can I help your company succeed on either or both sides of the globe?
