About me

Hello, I’m Julia, German wedding photographer from the North Sea coast with a heart full of wanderlust. I have a deep passion for using my camera to capture both the beauty and emotions of special moments. My goal is to capture the genuine connections and unique stories that each couple brings to their love story and thus helping to preserve the memories of their wedding for generations – through documentary style wedding photo shots from the bride getting ready to the wild party, as well as through stunning couple shootings at spectacular locations around the globe.

I’ve earned a degree in photojournalism and have been shooting professionally since 2013, and I also work with respected magazines and companies for editorial and commercial photography assignments. I bring empathy, calmness and reliability to my work, and I truly value building strong and friendly partnerships. When we come together, you can trust in a harmonious and productive experience.

Your wedding should be the most beautiful day of your life and I want to actively contribute to that – and capture your memories for eternity as carefree and aesthetically as possible. I’m looking forward to meeting you! :)

Getting Married and Capturing Memories in Germany

When it comes to the most romantic and picturesque destinations for weddings and wedding photography, Germany stands out as an extraordinary choice. From its enchanting landscapes to its rich cultural heritage, Germany offers an idyllic backdrop for couples seeking a memorable and magical wedding experience.

1. Scenic Diversity: Germany boasts a stunning variety of landscapes, from the fairytale-like castles nestled in the Bavarian Alps (Neuschwanstein Castle!) to the serene vineyards along the Rhine River. You can choose from a wide range of settings, whether you dream of a rustic countryside wedding, a charming village celebration, or an elegant city affair. The country’s diverse scenery ensures that every couple can find the perfect backdrop for their special day. In e.g. Berlin, Munich, or Frankfurt you can celebrate in a variety of ways and have an endless range of venue and photography location options.

The north, such as Lower Saxony, Hamburg and the North Sea coast, offers a variety of beautiful maritime places to celebrate a dream wedding and put you in the limelight as a couple. From picturesque stretches of coast on the North Sea, for example in East Frisia (Ostfriesland), to idyllic lakes and forests inland, you can find a variety of breathtaking historical and natural backdrops for your wedding photography shots in nature or in one of the lively cities such as Hamburg, Bremen or a cute German fishing village such as Greetsiel.

And – let’s not forget about the versatility the four seasons offer us here: Not too fond of a regular summer wedding? Why not get married and have your wedding photos taken in a snowy little village in Southern Germany, or in autumn with its beautiful colour palettes?

I would be happy to discuss suitable locations in Germany with you. BTW, if not Germany, I also love to follow you to exotic locations abroad for your dream shoot or your dream wedding / elopement far away – worldwide!

2. Historical Charm: Germany’s history is a tapestry of castles, palaces, and centuries-old towns. These historic sites provide a unique and timeless ambiance for wedding ceremonies and wedding photography. Imagine exchanging vows in a medieval castle or walking hand-in-hand through cobblestone streets lined with half-timbered houses – Germany offers countless opportunities to step back in time and create unforgettable memories.

3. Cultural Richness: German culture is steeped in traditions that add a meaningful layer to weddings. Did you know about the heartwarming custom of breaking porcelain for good luck – the joyous celebration of a Polterabend? Why not incorporate unique traditions into your own wedding experience.

And the rich and diverse German cuisine, featuring dishes like bratwurst and pork knuckels, accompanied by the best beer in the world, offers a spectacular culinary experience for guests.

4. Efficiency and Organization: Germany is renowned for its efficiency and meticulous planning. When it comes to wedding preparations, couples can trust that everything will run smoothly. The country’s strong infrastructure, reliable transportation, and well-organized event services make it stress-free for couples planning a destination wedding in Germany.

5. World-Class Wedding Photographers: Not to brag, but Germany is home to one of the best photojournalism universtities and some of the world’s finest wedding photographers ;)

Holding such a degree in photojournalism and being experienced in capturing the beauty of Germany’s landscapes, architecture, and couples’ love stories, I will make sure your wedding photos will not only reflect the magic of your special day but also the splendor of the German backdrop.

6. Legal Simplicity: While each country has its own marriage laws, Germany offers a straightforward process for foreigners to get married. Many couples find it relatively hassle-free to obtain the necessary documentation, making it a practical choice for international weddings.

In conclusion, Germany’s enchanting scenery, rich cultural heritage, and efficient wedding services make it a perfect destination for couples looking to tie the knot and create timeless memories. Whether you desire a fairytale wedding in a castle, lush natural sceneries in their many shapes and colours in summer, fall, winter or spring, or a chic city affair, Germany’s diverse offerings ensure your wedding is nothing short of magical. Let’s make your love story come to life here, and you’ll cherish the photographs and memories for a lifetime.

Steps & FAQ

Good communication and preparation are the be-all and end-all for a successful project and especially for such an important event in your life. In a meet and greet (either in person or via video call) we first clarify your individual wishes and ideas. Do you already have an idea of what you want in terms of motifs and duration of use or number of motifs? Or do you need personal advice on your wedding or wedding photo shoot in Germany first? Either way, we will first clarify everything else in a relaxed conversation.

Depending on the package you choose, I will accompany you with my camera on location in Germany or abroad, either from the getting ready to the exuberant party, or during the preferred sections (time window) of your wedding or photo a couple shoot.

I am always with you and your guests with calm, empathy and serenity – unobtrusive and attentive.

Within a few days I will send you a small SneakPeek selection of the highlights and after about 2-3 weeks you will receive your edited image selection as a digital download and online gallery.

If you wish, I can also create a photo album for you.

For weddings during the high season (April to September), you should book your German wedding photographer well in advance – ideally at least 12 months. The sooner the better…

My spectrum as a wedding photographer includes authentic and aesthetic documentary style wedding photograpy, i.e. photojournalistic shoots, e.g. from getting ready to the ceremony or right to the end, including the civil and/or church wedding; Couple shootings at your desired location and guest group portraits, which are often shot directly after the ceremony.

You can also book pure couple and engagement shoots, be it in Hannover, all over Germany, or at exotic locations abroad.

It’s the evening of your wedding and the party is only getting started – while we’re nearing the end of your booked package. You realize that you would like me to shoot longer than originally planned? No problem! Your package can almost always be extended without any problems :)

As a wedding photographer based in Hannover, Germany, I often work in and am very familiar with locations in Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Northern Germany, e.g. also in Brunswick (Braunschweig), Göttingen, Wolfsburg, the surrounding local recreation areas of Lüneburg Heath, the Harz & Weserbergland, on the coast in East Frisia, Bremen, Oldenburg, Hamburg, etc. All of these regions make great locations for stunning photo shoots in nature as well as in historical old towns etc.

I generally photograph throughout Germany and far beyond.

For more exotic weddings and shootings far away, I am also available throughout Europe, Asia and worldwide. You can find more information about destination wedding packages here.

Express service? Always!

As a wedding photographer, I know how important it is to you to receive your photos as quickly as possible. You will get your edited pictures within approx. 2-3 weeks, and a small Sneak Peek selection within 72 hours, so that you can share the memories of your day with your loved ones and via social media as quickly as possible.
